FDIC
This is the Federal Depositors' Insurance Company, a governmental organization created to insure deposits at banks and other financial institutions, up to $100,000 in some cases.

Interest
Money paid by a financial institution to depositors for use of their money during the period the depositor maintains an account. This can apply to an online savings account, an interest-bearing checking account or other types of financial products.
